Terms of Use

Last updated: 25 September 2026

Date This Cat (“Would You Date This Cat?”) is a comedy app by Loaded AG, Klostergutstrasse 4, 8252 Schlatt TG, Switzerland (“we”). You swipe on other people’s cats as if you were a cat, tap a reason, and see what everyone else thinks. Nobody dates anybody, and nobody can contact anybody. These terms apply to the app and to datethiscat.com.

1. Who can use the app

You need to be at least 13 and sign in with Apple. One account per person: votes are meant to be one person, one vote.

2. House rules

  • Cats only. No people, no other animals dressed up as cats.
  • Be nice. The joke is about the cats, never about their humans.
  • No contact details. No names, handles, links, phone numbers or addresses, in texts or on photos.
  • Report anything weird. We check every report within 24 hours.

There is zero tolerance for objectionable content or abuse: it gets removed, and the account goes with it.

3. Your cats

You may only post cats that are yours or whose owner agrees, and photos you took or may use. You keep all rights to your photos and texts. So that we can run the app, you give us a free, worldwide, non-exclusive permission to store your cat’s photos and texts, show them in the app, adapt them for that (resize, crop, add the stickers you chose, translate the texts) and show them on share cards and links you create. The permission ends when you delete the cat or your account; copies in backups disappear within 7 days. We don’t use your cat in advertising without asking you first.

4. Texts written by AI

The app can write a first draft of your cat’s profile and its reason buttons with an AI model. The draft may be off, wrong or not funny. You check and edit it before posting, and you are responsible for what you post.

The AI step runs on DeepSeek (Hangzhou DeepSeek Artificial Intelligence Co., Ltd., China). Only with your consent in the app, your cat’s photos, its name, age and the three words you picked go there; never your account, your name or your location. Details, and what that means for your data, are in the privacy policy (section 4).

5. Votes and rankings

Votes and rankings are for fun. Owners see totals, never who voted. We may leave out votes that look automated or fake, and we don’t promise any particular result.

6. House cats and shelter cats

Some cats in the deck are “house cats”: real cats from Wikimedia Commons, added by us so there is always someone to judge, and credited to their photographers. House cats vote too: every new cat gets votes from house cats in its first day, and every cat gets a few each week. These votes count in a cat’s results and rankings like anyone’s, and the owner’s stats show how many came from house cats. House cats appear in the rankings, marked as house cats. Cats from verified shelters may link to the shelter’s own adoption page; that page is the shelter’s responsibility.

7. Moderation

We may hide or remove cats, photos and texts that break these terms or the law, and suspend or delete accounts that do so repeatedly or seriously. If we remove something of yours, you can ask us why at hello@loaded.ch.

8. Ending

You can delete your account at any time in the app (Settings → Delete account). We may end the service or parts of it; if we do, we will say so in the app in good time where we can.

9. The app is free and comes as it is

We work hard to keep the app running and funny, but we can’t promise that it’s always available or free of errors. As far as the law allows, we are only liable for damage we cause intentionally or through gross negligence. Mandatory consumer protection law stays unaffected.

10. Apple

The App Store’s standard licence (Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement) applies to the app itself; these terms add the rules for using the service. Apple is not a party to these terms.

11. Changes, law and courts

We may update these terms; important changes are announced in the app, and continuing to use the app after that means you accept them. Swiss law applies. The courts at the seat of Loaded AG are responsible, unless mandatory law says otherwise, for example for consumers.
